10 Tips to top Mumbai University Semester's

1.) Lecture's update.
Frankly speaking there is no meaning in attending the lectures(Note: Depending on the college you are), you will only be out of the defaulter list but you are wasting your time there. Instead of spending your time in lectures, put your time in some valuable places such as online study it will give you more knowledge. But it's doesn't mean that you don't go college, bunk your lectures and pracs and waste your time in other stuffs. Have a habbit of knowing what is going on in a lecture, which topics are covered etc.

2.) Go through Syllabus.
The main reason why MU students doesn't score well is they don't know what is going to come in exam or what are the topics to be study. So it's important to know your syllabus well and then start preparing.

3.) Previous year Question Papers.
Last 2 years question papers including KT papers of each subject and start writing all the questions in a separate notebook or papers. You would notice that most of the questions are repeated and you end up with 40 to 50 questions in your hand. These are the only ones which you have to study well.

4.) Prepare Chapter-wise(i.e, pick out question from chapter's).
Out of the 50 questions, approx 25 to 30 are long ans questions and 20 to 25 are short ans question. Segregate them according to the chapters, on an avgerage you would get, 5 to 6 long ans questions & 3 to 4 short ans question per chapter. This would tell you the entire layout of the subject and importantly would enlighten you of what to prepare & what not. To know what you actually have to prepare is essential. A lot of students spend a lot of time on topics which are never asked in the exams.

5.) No Pain, No Gain...So don't just learn it 'WRITE' it.
Take one chapter at a time and write down all the answers in a Notebook which should be meant only for that subject.(Note: Make different Notebooks for different subjects, don’t mix anything) By doing this, you would exactly know which question is where and would help you save time in those final moments of revision before the exam. While writing answers in your notebook, write it as you are going to write in the main exam.

6.) Take your own time.
When you are writing the answers in your book check for the answers which you feel are easy to remember. You can even write the answers in your way, just that you should remember it during exam. After completing the answer read it 2 to 3 time so that it fits firmly in your brain & only then move ahead with the next question.

7.) REVISION
Always keep 1 to 2 days for revising what you have prepared. While revising read all the answers quickly and loudly. Revise or go through the whole notebook atleast 2 times, this would lead to the concretion of the answer in your mind.

8.) Good sleep = Good marks.
Have proper 7 to 8 hrs of sleep while preparing, it would keep you rejuvenated for the next day. Also eat chocolates, your brain consumes a lot of calories while studying and a quick dose of sugar would help it restore the energy needed to study.

9.) Be Specific to your answers.
For Long answer questions(i.e 8 or 10 marks question) write only 12 to 15 distinct points if there is any diagram in the answer then 18 to 20 distinct points, if there isn’t any diagram (Consider 1/2 mark for each point). Take a whole page for the diagram and label it correctly you can gain up to 3 marks then and there. Then write point wise answers with a one line gap between two points, this will make the examainer happy. For Short ans (ie. 4 to 5 marks questions), write 5 to 6 distinct points if there is any diagram in the answer else write 8 to 10 distinct points.(Remember the examiner has only 2 mins to check your answer sheet, if he sees that you have drawn neatly and labelled it correctly, he won’t check your answer strictly.)

10.) Allocate a time for your answer's.
While writing the exam allot time for each questions, as in there are total 6 question sets with sub-questions in them, out of which you have to write 4 questions. So allot 30 minutes for each question set, by this you would complete 80 marks paper in 2 and a half hrs with 30 valuable mins in hand. Recheck all the answers in those remaining 30 mins & make the necessary changes if needed. All the Best.
